Mismatch between Talent and Opportunities
Almost 20% of the world population lacks basic education and about 40% are enrolled in some form of tertiary education. According to the site Our World in Data (https://ourworldindata.org/global-education), USA will have 61% population with some tertiary education while Asia and Africa will have only about 3 to 6% by year 2025. On the other hand, in 2023, the United States saw at least 30 college closures, including both nonprofit and for-profit institutions. According to the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, overall postsecondary enrollment fell by 4.1% in the fall of 2022 compared to the previous year, marking a continued decline since 2020.
